Las Líridas is a non-denominational Ceremonial Sanctuary in nature, for people to come together in sacred presence and participate in the deepening of their own inner journey evolution. 

Nestled in the downhill sacred valley of Tepoztlán, Morelos, Las Liridas borders with a seasonal river that has several natural pools in amongst the large volcanic rock formations, and 6 waterfalls; the biggest one right in front of our Open-Air temple and adjoining terraces. The view of the "sleeping midget" mountain as well as a long reaching view into the valleys of Cuautla and Yautepec and the further yet Sierra of Guerrero, are breathtaking and give lots of space for the internal vision to expand. 
The valley itself as well as the unique formations of the surrounding mountains are a product of volcanic eruption of the now dormant Chichinautzin volcano some 10,000 years ago., covering all the landscape in a thick layer of dark grey porous lava stone, which is the main material used in the villages for building the houses, roads, walls and foundations. 

This bio-region is a "selva baja caducifolia" which is a "tropical deciduous story forest". This means that the trees are not too tall and that they lose their leaves in the winter. We have two main  seasons - the dry: from December to May the wet: from June to November.

Inspired by the nature-honoring design principles that permaculture has to offer, in amidst the volcanic rocky nature of the slopey landscape, Las Liridas aims to create natural contemplative spaces where people can absorb the beauty of nature in a cozy and safe surrounding and integrate further their personal journey, as well as have a peaceful environment to have heart-filled conversations with other visitors or members. 

Whether it is through the various types of spiritual or  ecological based workshops, creative expression through art, shamanic ceremonies, music circles, body movement, or simply living in community, we believe that each person's personal path towards a spiritual awakening, becoming a better human, and discovering their unique path of service, is largely due to the pure intention of their own heart, and the amount of effort one puts into their own process.

In Las Líridas, we respect the personal cultural, spiritual, sexual  and ideological differences and beliefs that participants may have and strongly encourage each person to follow the path that best suits their soul-journey. We love to learn the valuable lessons from all walks of life and embrace the points where all converge. That said, in Las Líridas - we do not tolerate any attempts on religious or philosophical indoctrination by any one particular viewpoint against another, understanding and comprehending that all ancient paths all lead back to the same One-Consciousness where Loving Awareness is the keystone.

In Las Liridas we uphold traditional shamanic wisdom; space for deep soul-searching; community based consciousness and behaviour; a strict PRO-PALESTINE viewpoint (No exceptions);  the conscious use of sacred plants in the ceremonial way they were intended; the responsible use of tobacco & alcohol; and a peaceful interaction with everyone here.

Mission Statement

Las Liridas is a Non-Denominational Ceremonial Center and Intentional Sustainable Community in Tepoztlan, Mexico; providing a safe and natural space for those seeking to cultivate spirituality, partake in ancestral traditional ceremonies for personal growth, energetic cleansing and inner expansion.
During the time of its construction and development, it will function as a Living and Learning Centre for people to learn Permaculture Design and many practical workshops in natural building, gardens, water management, and such related topics.

Vision

We, in Las Liridas Temple Sanctuary Project, believes in the importance of cultivating one's entire being in these relevant times of change, for uplifting our spirit and realizing ourselves through the fulfillment of our purpose on being Human, here on Earth. 

We are creating Las Liridas to provide a safe space where different activities and events that encourage the cultivation of our being occur, so that we may all have the remembrance of who we are in our purest potential. 
 

Mainly, this project consists of:

A Temple for ceremonies;

A multiple use room for workshops,

A communal kitchen,

A permaculture food and herb garden,

Sustainable water system/cistern/showers/dry toilets/pond, etc,

A healing space

A dark room retreat,

Lodging for retreat guests,

A smaller temple for Yoga and other practices

And a few different style sleeping accommodations for guests, staff, volunteers, visitors...
A natural medicine wellness center
